Delete Your Account

How to permanently delete your Teleperson account and what happens when you do.

You can delete your Teleperson account at any time from the extension. Once the deletion completes, your account and personal data are gone — there is no recovery.

How to delete

  1. Open the Teleperson panel and go to the Settings tab (gear icon).
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone card at the bottom.
  3. Click Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation dialog. Type DELETE (uppercase) into the confirmation field to enable the destructive button.
  5. Click Delete my account.

The panel signs you out and returns to the connect screen as soon as the deletion completes.

What gets deleted

  • Your profile, contact info, and avatar image.
  • Followed companies and vendor connections.
  • AI conversations and chat history.
  • Linked bank accounts (Plaid and MX) — access tokens are invalidated.
  • Active subscriptions are cancelled in Stripe immediately. Your Stripe customer record is also deleted.

What's retained

A small set of records is kept with your user ID removed, so they cannot be linked back to you. These are required for compliance and accounting:

  • Anonymized financial records (e.g. past payment line items).
  • Anonymized audit and security logs.
  • Anonymized aggregate analytics.

A single security log entry is written at deletion time to record that the account was deleted, but it does not contain your email or any identifying information — only a one-way hash for fraud-investigation purposes.

What to know before you delete

  • No proration refund. If you have an active paid subscription, cancelling immediately forfeits the rest of the period you've already paid for. If you'd rather keep access through the end of the period, cancel your subscription first from your billing portal, then return here when you're ready.
  • It's instant and irreversible. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account. If you sign up again with the same email, you'll start from a clean slate — no companies, no chat history, no settings.
  • Your local extension data (panel preferences cached on this device) is cleared as part of the sign-out that follows deletion.

If something goes wrong

If the deletion fails partway through (for example, Stripe is unreachable), the dialog stays open and shows an error. The server records any external cleanup failures in the audit log so support can finish the work manually if needed. You can re-try the deletion; it's safe to call again.

If you have any questions about your data before you delete, please reach out through the Contact Teleperson Support flow first.
